Donald Readerlear was born on either the 21st or 22nd of February, 1947, at Carshalton, UK. Left on Christmas 1965, to live in Whangarei, New Zealand, and met Dennis Galvin in July 1968, and had a civil union for 48 years. Dennis Galvin passed away in September 2016. Mr. Readerlear has one published book The Wind That Blows and six more books to come. He now lives with his constant companion, Stella, a black standard poodle. He has cancer now and is on chemotherapy. He is a teacher of Scottish country dancing. He has ten published dance books. He has a lovely home with a tropical garden.
Summer and her younger sister Mandy are driving back to Auckland and are involved in a car accident; Mandy is found dead and Summer is paralysed.Mathew is married with one son. He falls in love with Robbin who is an exotic dancer and escort at The Pink Pussy Cat in the red light district of Auckland. Parul, Sutra, Dennis and the twins Donald and Michael attend a BBQ and meet Mathew, his wife Liz Fletcher and his wheelchair-bound girlfriend Summer. The detectives join a Scottish country dance club to try to find out where Mathew goes at night after dancing with his wife. The twins reconnect with Tilly, Badger and Bella who are all grown up now. Parul finds she is pregnant. Mathew is found battered to death in a park by his now pregnant girlfriend Robbin. Robbin is charged with Mathew’s murder. It’s up to the detectives to prove she is innocent.
Parul and her aunty Sutra are busy organising Donald and Michael’s weddings. When they are offered a weekend at a lodge just outside National Park on the Volcanic plateau by Sally, their next-door neighbour, both ladies decide to take advantage of the offer as a rest before the weddings. Before Parul leaves, she instructs Dolly Dennis and Parul’s new detective to look after the new agency. Dolly investigates the mystery urinator on Mrs Bagshot’s lawn and steps. While the two ladies are relaxing in the lodge, a murder is committed. There is a snow blizzard and everyone plus the murderer is snowbound in the lodge. Parul and Sutra try to investigate the murder. Parul is attacked and someone tries to strangle Sutra. Eventually, the snow clears. The National Park and Wanganui police try to locate the murderer. They flee over the snow drifts. Back at home, the ladies get on with the weddings, and a mysterious envelope arrives.
Parul Das is an Indian woman doctor that has had a failed affair in England. She is going back to India hoping to find herself. In doing so, she finds love, a family and peace of mind. Dennis Galvin, an Anglo-Indian, happily married to Susan, lives in Swindon, England, with his twins, Donald and Michael, and wife. However, his happy life is thrown upside down when his wife leaves him for another man. He then takes a ship back to India to meet the love of his life, Parul. Dennis takes his twins to see his parents in Goa. Then, he and his twins visit Parul at the tea plantation just outside Darjeeling, where he meets Sutra, Parul’s aunty. The twins are taught cooking by Sutra. Parul announces that she is emigrating to New Zealand. Sutra, Dennis and the twins go too. They board the cruise ship, Electra, in Calcutta, which is bound for Australia and New Zealand. Whilst onboard the Electra, there are two murders which the three detectives, Parul, Sutra and Dennis, try to solve. The twins meet three young girls on board; Tilly, Bella and Badger. Bella gets jealous and pushes Don into the swimming pool on board. After he is rescued, he reveals the murderers. Once the murderers are caught, everyone looks forward to their new lives in a new land. But still, there lurks hate and murder.
